The FCC has banned the import of new robotic devices and power inverters made in China, which could be used to collect data or be remotely controlled in the event of tensions between the two countries.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the agency that regulates telecommunications in the US , has added two new categories to its Covered List , the register of products considered a risk to national security: advanced humanoid and quadruped robots and internet-connected power inverters, both manufactured abroad. From now on, new models will no longer be eligible for authorization for sale on the American market.
